Ted his a MD certified professional horticulturalist with a Masters in Landscape Architecture. He grew up on the nursery farm and worked as a Foreman over his summers in high school before receiving his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University. He is an active sponsor/member of the MD Hort. Society, ASLA, Ladew Gardens and other local organizations that promote horticultural and environmetal stewardship and education.
Ted is a board member of the Maryland Nursery, Landscape, and Greenhouse Association and sits on the Advisory Committee for the Horticulture Program at the Community College of Baltimore County. He is also a board member of the Long Green Land Trust, concerned with the preservation and stewardship of farmland in the Long Green Valley. When not at the farm, he loves to travel to exotic gardens with his wife and son and search out great barbecue.
An award-winning landscape designer and Certified Professional Horticulturalist, Corey has 40 years of experience with Pinehurst. Building on his Bachelor of Science degree in Business he continued his education with courses in Horticulture and Design at the University of Maryland and later at Dundalk Community College.
Corey creatively combines elements of landscape and hardscape to enhance the beauty and value of your home. His natural talent for design and his extensive knowledge of plants, integrated with the needs and desires of the homeowner, can transform any outdoor space into a tranquil garden area to be enjoyed for a lifetime. Corey’s wife Michelle works in the Pinehurst office during the spring and fall seasons.
Chris is a certified professional horticulturist with a Bachelor of Science degree from Philadelphia University in Landscape Architecture. Chris has worked in the landscape industry since 2002, developing his vast knowledge of construction and horticulture. Chris brings a modern and contemporary vision to the landscapes he designs. Chris uses strong design elements with beauty and function to create a cohesive landscape. His passion and excitement for landscape design and management are obvious when you work with him.
Sarah is a landscape designer, enthusiastic about design and its potential to both beautify a home or property and enhance the natural environment. Sarah is interested in working with clients on project large and small and her aesthetic and interest ranges from modern landscapes to traditional english gardens to naturalistic native plantscapes.
Sarah received a Masters degree in architecture at the University of Oregon where she studied environmental design and spent a semester in Kyoto, Japan studying Japanese gardens. As a registered Architect, she brings a holistic sensibility to projects and master plans. An avid traveler, Sarah has studied and observed beautiful gardens and landscapes in India, Belize, northern Germany, Denmark and throughout the western US and Canada.
Dan has over 8 years of experience in the residential landscape and nursery industry. He is a graduate of Loyola University, MD and is continuing his education with coursework in Landscape Architecture at Anne Arundel Community College. Dan is a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps and is engaged to be married in the summer of 2016.
Rose is the heart and soul of the Pinehurst office. With poise and precision, she manages the inner workings of the business ranging from customer service to billing. She joined the team in 2000 and has kept the office running smoothly ever since. Rose enjoys the outdoors and hiking in her free time.
Michelle is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a BA in Recreation Resource Management and has always been passionate about the environment. She began working with Pinehurst 30 years ago as a nursery assistant, caring for and organizing plant material. After raising her two daughters, she later joined the Pinehurst team as the Service Coordinator. When not at Pinehurst, she works part-time as a High School Lacrosse and Field Hockey Official.
